Learn to build a Superadobe Dome with ensuite shower whilst experiencing off-grid life, immersed in nature.

I'm Adam, superadobe builder and project leader of Tao Valley, a school of nature in central Portugal. This September, I am running a course to build a dome and teach people how to do it. It will be my fifth build. My first was in Italy where I learned the technique of superadobe construction from architect and CalEarth alumni, Davide Fresca.

I will teach you everything that there is to know, the theory and practical aspects of superadobe construction. This includes laying the bags, creating the ideal earthen mix, building arches and earthen plastering, to name a few.

This course build will be staged in two parts.

450€ (350€)*

* Discounts for participants who bring their own tent or campervan.

Reserving your place requires a 100€ non-refundable deposit and then payment in full one week before the start of the build.

Here's a Typical Day

(subject to change depending on weather, etc):

0730 Morning meeting and sharing circle

1300 Break with healthy snacks

1600 Yoga (optional)
1800 Dinner

1900 Free time/movie
2100 Quiet time
2200 Lights out

We will work 5 days a week, weather permitting,

with two consecutive days off.

What's Included?

Included in the course price is:

Vegetarian meals plus snacks, including weekends;
Accommodation (twin shared bell tent with comfortable mattress), unless you want to bring your own accommodation;
Tuition;
Yoga classes;
Outdoor cinema (once per week)

Not included

Bedding, please bring your own single bedsheet, pillow case and sleeping bag.
Transport costs (full details of how to get here will be provided).
Work gloves (details provided later)
Medical insurance
